The Superintendent’s Endowment is comprised of unrestricted endowment gifts, providing the Superintendent with a reliable source of flexible funding to support existing priorities as well as innovative opportunities as they emerge over time. The Superintendent’s Annual Fund is comprised of annual unrestricted gifts, allowing the Superintendent the flexibility to direct funds to existing priorities as well as emerging, innovative opportunities wherever they are most needed at any given time. The Superintendent’s Annual Fund includes unrestricted gifts to the Parents Fund.

CIAG Character Development Lab - Read/Print Brochure
The mission of the Character Integration and Advisory Group (CIAG) is to elevate, promote, integrate, and lead character development across the four development programs—military, academic, physical, and character. The Lab will conduct virtual moral-action scenarios to facilitate assessment of character development interventions. Scenario research will include cadets and the use of virtual reality technology which can monitor involuntary and unconscious physical reactions. Quantitative and qualitative data can be collected for use in longitudinal studies and assessing the effectiveness of various character interventions. CIAG will also offer CIADs (Character Individual Advanced Development) opportunities to cadets who have been selected to serve on the Honor, Trust, Respect, and Peer Support Committees.

Considered by the Academy as a public portal to West Point on Trophy Point, this new 42,000 square-foot facility will enable West Point to showcase its academic depth and commitment to the study of the human dimension of warfare thereby providing a “link” between the humanities, social sciences, and STEM disciplines. Fully funded by the Margin of Excellence, this facility will provide much needed cadet and faculty interdisciplinary collaboration and conference space. The facility will include a theater and will be home to the Office of Admissions Welcome Center, the first stop for cadet candidates and their families.

Chaplain’s Endowment/Fund - Read/Print Brochure
The Chaplain’s Endowment and Fund will provide flexible funding to the Chaplain in addressing renovations and upgrades to West Point’s chapels in compliance with historical guidelines, provide support to contemporary worship through resources such as musical instruments, audio/visual equipment, and computerized programming supporting worship services, and general support to the chapels for immediate and emerging needs.

Minority Visitation Program - Read/Print Brochure
The Minority Visitation Program is a critical piece of West Point’s diversity goals. It pays for highly-qualified minority cadet candidates and an accompanying parent to travel to West Point and experience cadet life, including the barracks, academics, athletics, and cadet clubs. By providing the opportunity to visit West Point and spend time with cadets, candidates are offered a compelling look into the high level of academic and military education offered and are thus able to make an informed decision regarding their future college choice. The program also facilitates proper recruitment and mentoring of prospective students of all backgrounds and helps to ensure that West Point attracts the very best talent our country has to offer and will sustain a diverse and inclusive Corps of Cadets.

USMA Preparatory School (USMAPS) Endowment
This endowment provides unrestricted, flexible funding to the USMAPS Commander as he/she responds to requests from the major activities at the Prep School: co-curricular clubs, Academic Enrichment Program trip sections and academic competitions, travel and specialized equipment for Prep School athletes, and leader development program trip sections and guest speakers.

Egner Hall (funded)
The Egner Hall Renovation Project will upgrade the Glee Club’s rehearsal space into a state-of-the-art permanent home base for the Club. A digital acoustic system will significantly improve practice conditions to expedite learning, improve team skills, and reinforce individual technique. Installing recording capability in the Glee Club room will increase public outreach through more frequent recording and will enable them to capture organic, acoustic performance. An audio-visual installation will connect with the West Point Band audio tech studio, allowing for interaction with guest artists and presenters, commissioned composers, and viewing performances of other groups. Centralized HVAC will provide consistent temperature and relative humidity for the care of equipment, library, and archives, as well as Cadets and staff at work! Facility improvements will benefit other performing Cadet Support Clubs, such as the Spirit Band, String Ensemble, and Rock Band with adequate temperature-controlled storage for expensive instruments, climate-controlled rehearsal spaces, and more functional use of existing space through design improvements.

Cyber & Engineering Academic Center - Read/Print Brochure
The CEAC, the first new academic building at West Point in more than a decade, will be the hub of innovation and collaboration at West Point, supporting academic, laboratory and collaborative project space for the departments of Civil and Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, and Systems Engineering. Forming a monumental south entrance to the Central Area, project features include an extraordinary bridge, which provides synergistic study space while connecting CEAC to Mahan Hall, and a rooftop colloquium and collaboration space.

Math & Systems Engineering Center
Building 606 will be the new home for the Departments of Math and Systems Engineering. The government renovation of MSEC will include key Margin of Excellence elements. An approximately 4,000-square-foot Atrium will replace the current stacked hallways system and resolve what is currently an inhibiting space between the east and west wings and provide key circulation enhancements that move the space from dysfunctional and constraining to modern and inspirational. In addition, the Overlook Bridge will connect MSEC with the soon-to-be-constructed Cyber & Engineering Academic Center (CEAC) and complete the Academy’s Engineering Complex, which includes Mahan Hall, CEAC, and MSEC.

The Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies (CHGS) is an academic center aimed at educating the country’s current and future leaders on how past genocides have occurred and what can be done to prevent them in the future. Beyond West Point, the CHGS serves as a vital resource on atrocity prevention and response issues across the globe.

Center for Molecular Science
The Center will provide cadets with state-of-the-art instrumentation, summer research internships, scientific conference travel, peer-review publications, guest lectures, and research opportunities with faculty and post-doctoral fellows in the fields of bioengineering, nanomaterials, and clinical studies.

Combating Terrorism Center - Read/Print Brochure
The Combating Terrorism Center (CTC) was established in response to the attacks of September 11, 2001, with the mission of arming current and future leaders with the intellectual tools needed to defeat and deter terrorist threats. This internationally renowned center connects academic experts with military leaders and other government agencies to facilitate research, education, and policy analysis at both the strategic and intellectual levels. The CTC is one of the nation’s largest providers of counter-terrorism education.

Consolidated Scholarship Program

CLS Pre-Med Scholarship
The Pre-Medical Scholarship program prepares USMA graduates to serve as Army physicians in support of soldiers, military families, and wounded warriors. The program supports approximately 200 cadets each year who show interest in and the intellectual aptitude to pursue a medical degree. Cadets participate in the annual West Point Medicine and Life Science Forum, as well as physician shadowing, clinical outreach and research, pre-medical conferences, and medical AIAD opportunities. These experiences, in addition to the support and mentorship provided for the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) preparation, set the stage for graduates’ success in pursuing a career in military medicine.

CME Technical Scholarship - Read/Print Brochure
The Technical Scholars program provides information and opportunities for approximately 85 cadets per graduating class who express interest in any of the 6 technical scholarship opportunities: the Goldwater (an undergraduate scholarship), Hertz Foundation, National Science Foundation, and Churchill Scholarships, as well as the Lincoln and Draper Laboratory Fellowships. With necessary funding, the program will support the formal, interdisciplinary Critical Scientific Reasoning course as well as provide support to cadets in developing their application products that include technical research proposals and related materials. The Technical Scholarship program is distinct from but works in concert with, the USMA Graduate Scholarship and EXCEL Scholars programs.

SOSH Graduate Scholarship - Read/Print Brochure
The Graduate Scholarship Program offers intensive mentorship of cadet graduate scholarship candidates by assisting them in synthesizing their experiences in the academic, military, physical, and character programs - as well as their other developmental experience as cadets - and in formulating and articulating visions for their future service. The program consists of a formal course sequence and developmental experiences beyond the classroom. Cadets in the program apply for nationally-competitive scholarships ranging from the deferrable Truman Scholarship (awarded in the junior year) to the Rhodes, Marshall, Gates Cambridge, Mitchell, Rotary, East-West, and Fulbright Scholarships, each of which provides for one to two years of graduate schooling immediately following commissioning.

Cyber Initiatives

Army Cyber Institute Cadet Competitive Cyber Policy Team - Read/Print Brochure
The Cadet Competitive Cyber 9/12 Policy Team is a multidisciplinary team of approximately 16 cadets that trains and competes in the National Security Agency Cyber Exercise (NCX) policy module. The policy module is one of five in NCX, a year-round education, training, and exercise program that culminates in a three-day cyber competition that challenges participating service academy and military service college students in near full-spectrum cyber operations. Cadets from across academic departments are participants on this team, which also participates in other domestic and international cyber strategy challenges.

Research Center Cadet Cyber Team - Read/Print Brochure
The Cadet Competitive Cyber Team (C3T) is comprised of 20 cadets who have been selected from over 100 cadets who are part of the Cadet Activities’ cyber club. The team, coached by members of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science rotating faculty, competes on both the collegiate level nationally and in international cyber competitions, developing computer and network security skills and fostering a team culture conducive to developing leaders of character.

Housed within the Department of History, and taking seeded beginnings from the former Cartographic Center for Excellence, the Digital History Center (DHC) at West Point will be a twenty-first century public-facing digital makerspace that not only preserves—but also makes interactive—a critical corpus of primary source materials and cutting-edge publications, instilling “wisdom through history” for the next generation of U.S. Army Officers and beyond. The DHC will serve as a content-generating digital laboratory, create opportunities for cadets to experience history through interactive augmented and virtual reality products, and widen the scope of historical inquiry by building customized, codable databases of historical information. As the world of information gathering, analysis, and dissemination rapidly changes, it is imperative that West Point engage tomorrow’s officers in the robust lessons of yesterday and equip them with full proficiency of cutting-edge technology so they can succeed in leading the Army of the future anywhere in the world.

Earth Science Field Study Program - Read/Print Brochure
A two- to three-week field study (AIAD) focusing on geology, aquatic science, and a host of other earth science topics. The experience offers field-based education and introduces and reinforces disciplinary depth, critical thinking and creativity, and lifelong learning skills not able to be developed in classroom study.

The Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program is an international teaching exchange program under the U.S. Dept of State. Lieber Institute for Law & Land Warfare facilitates and contributes to the global dialogue on today’s most pressing and complex law of war issues. Model UN
West Point’s Model UN Team ranks as one of the top North American college teams. By participating on the team, cadets challenge themselves and one another to clearly and compellingly discuss complex topics and further their understanding of pressing national and international issues. Furthermore, cadets act as Academy ambassadors, helping to educate their civilian peers on the West Point experience.

Photonics Center - Read/Print Brochure
The Photonics Research Center in the Department of Physics and Nuclear Engineering conducts cutting-edge high energy laser and photonics research and provides experiential opportunities for cadets and faculty in the study of photonics (the physical science of light waves). The results of the research will be used by the Army and the Department of Defense in developing directed energy systems, not only developing technical solutions to Army problems but educating officers with knowledge of laser technologies and capabilities for the defense of the nation.

West Point’s primary vehicle for influencing leadership development is the West Point Leadership Center, an academic center responsible for leadership development, practice, and research. The center strengthens the leadership development provided to all West Point cadets through a range of initiatives, instilling new knowledge that expands leaders’ understanding of the world and human and organizational behavior, and facilitating coaching, mentoring, and reflection. The Leadership Center concentrates on three lines of effort: Character and Leadership Development, Diversity and Inclusive Leadership, and Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and aims to advance and nurture responsible leadership development within West Point, the Army, government entities, educational institutions, and corporations.

West Point Writing Fellows Program - Read/Print Brochure
The multidisciplinary Writing Fellows Program, under the Office of the Dean, is a rigorous, nationally-recognized effort to develop thoughtful and effective communicators in every domain—academic, technical, and military. Established in 2012, this proven, growing program supports cadets and faculty through innovative courses in writing scholarship and teaching, peer-to-peer consultations, presentations at juried conferences, AIADs, and partnerships with outside experts. Cadet Fellows, in particular, receive intensive support for their own personal, professional, and civic writing projects; likewise, faculty across departments develop as both writers and teachers of writing through the opportunities the Program offers. Cadet Activities Unrestricted Endowment/Fund - Read/Print Brochure
Cadet Activities (DCA) provides co-curricular, recreational, cultural, spiritual, and social outlets for cadets that contribute to cadet development militarily, physically, academically, ethically, spiritually, and socially. DCA is comprised of more than 100 different clubs. Every activity provides valuable leadership opportunities for cadets, placing them in charge of training, scheduling, budgeting, travel, and other operations. Annual operating funds as well as a few club endowments are needed.

Located in the basement of Bradley Barracks, the approximate 4,000 sq ft center will provide the full spectrum of technology-based simulation training programs, offering the capability for the delivery of simulations to cadets to enhance training and research in the areas of marksmanship, synthetic mounted maneuver, eSports, accelerated human cognitive decision-making, and mission command planning and communications.

The Cadet Glee Club is one of the Academy’s most visible and iconic groups. For more than 100 years, the Cadet Glee Club has served as a strategic messaging arm of West Point, bringing the Academy to communities throughout the nation, providing inspiration and entertainment to millions. Cadet Parachute Team - Read/Print Brochure
This endowment will fund a team that serves a threefold mission: to develop leadership and confidence under demanding and unforgiving conditions; to compete and win in intercollegiate, military, and civilian skydiving competitions; and to provide a strategic communications platform that displays precision and professionalism during freefall demonstrations at public gatherings. This 60 year-old team is the oldest, continuously operating competitive parachute team in the U.S. military and has won over 100 individual national medals, three national championships, and has set four state records and three national records in the last five years.

Cadet Spirit Support
The endowment supports over 200 cadets participating in the spirit support clubs that include the Cadet Pep Band, the Mule Riders, the Rally Cannon Crew, the Tank Crew, Pipes and Drums, the Cadet Media Group, WKDT, and the Army and cadet company mascots.

Competitive Club Sports
Competitive club sports provide cadets with the opportunity to train, compete, and lead. The 16 competitive cadet club teams are some of the most prominent and recognizable programs at West Point. These clubs have achieved recognition as national champions, world cup invitees, world record holders, Olympians, and a host of regional and state champions. The clubs travel across the U.S. to compete, with the cost of travel and equipment funded solely by donors and profits from DCA retail operations.

DMI Academy Scholarship Program - Read/Print Brochure
The Department of Military Instruction’s AIADs provide unique personal and professional development opportunities for cadets through the selection of programs that are selected based on their ability to enhance student learning outcomes, connect theoretical concepts to the real world, and support Defense Strategic Studies (DSS) program goals. DPE Physical Development Excellence - Read/Print Brochure
The Department of Physical Education is charged with developing warrior leaders of character who are physically fit and mentally tough by engaging cadets in activities that promote and enhance physical excellence. ATHLETICS

As per USMA’s 2035 Plan, the Michie Stadium Preservation Project is pivotal as it will relocate and consolidate Army West Point Athletics offices and administrative functions within a centralized footprint, the Athletic Center of Excellence (ACE), as well as be a home for introducing potential recruits and their families to Army West Point Athletics. Once complete, ACE will free up much-needed space in Building 639, Athletics’ current home. The released space will be utilized for the Academy’s broader vision for cadet development programs and initiatives. With the 52,800-square-foot center, all of Army West Point Athletics administrative offices will now be housed within the footprint of the Michie Complex (Holleder Center, Kimsey Center, and Randall Hall).
