Branch Night for the Class of 2022

SEE PHOTOS

On December 2, members of the Class of 2022 learned which of the Army's 17 branches they will be serving after graduation during Branch Night. More than 50 members of the Class of 1972, their 50-Year Affiliate Class, were able to attend the event with GEN (R) Richard Cody '72 serving as the guest speaker. The Class of 1972 presented all members of the firstie class with their 50-Year Affiliate class coin and their "first brass" branch insignia pins. This is the third year the Academy used the Army's Talent Based Branching model, where cadets competed and interviewed for their branch of choice before branch commandants voted on their preferred cadets. More than 92% of cadets received a branch in their top 3 preferences, and 74% received their number one preference branch. The Class of 2022 has 72% of Cadets branching into Combat Arms (Infantry, Armor, Field Artillery, Air Defense Artillery, Engineers, and Aviation). 86% of Cadets joined a Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) branch, consisting of traditional Combat Arms plus Cyber, Military Intelligence, and Signal Corps.
